ACUPUNCTURE & CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE

Ailin Kojima, L.Ac.

Ailin Kojima is a licensed acupuncturist and board certified Chinese herbalist. She earned her Masters degree from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Her clinical training includes externships at St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Initiative for Women with Disabilities at NYU’s Hospital for Joint Diseases. She also studied abroad in Beijing with Dr. Wang Ju-Yi, who has over 50 years of clinical experience, particularly in classical palpation techniques.

Ailin has worked in nonprofit with the Chinese Medical Science Foundation. There, she helped develop the Acupuncture Fellowship Program at Saint Vincent Hospital Manhattan. She participated in the program as a Fellow and administrator during which the program expanded to include Rehab medicine, Geriatrics and Oncology. In addition to providing acupuncture treatments in each of these departments, she joined hospital rounds to discuss patient care and to help educate the care team on how acupuncture can be incorporated into an allopathic hospital setting.

Although Ailin has had several experiences in the biomedical setting, her passion remains in the classical art of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.  She continues her studies of classical methods, not only of acupuncture and herbal medicine, but also in disciplines such as Medical Qigong. She has realized her life’s work and enjoys educating others about the benefits of this ancient medicine.

In her private practice, Ailin treats a wide variety of conditions, including orthopedics, emotional and autoimmune disorders, acute and chronic illness and women’s health issues. She is also a member of the team of acupuncturists providing fertility treatments to complement in vitro fertilization and other assisted reproductive technologies at Yin and Tonic Acupuncture.
