Ayla Yavin MS LAC is a licensed and board certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist. She specializes in orthopedics, stress management, women’s health, and fertility. Ayla graduated Summa Cum Laude from Touro College’s Graduate Program in Oriental Medicine (GPOM) where she earned a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Health Science. Ayla also completed an extensive acupuncture residency at Lutheran Medical Center (LMC) in Brooklyn, where she is now credentialed to provide acupuncture during labor and delivery. Ayla believes the true value of Chinese medicine is how effectively this ancient method can apply to contemporary health concerns and heal the body and mind synergistically. She discovered acupuncture during her dance career, when she sought acupuncture treatment while recovering from an injury. She was inspired by Chinese medicine’s ability to transform pain and injury into opportunities for education and positive life change. After her complete recovery, Ayla returned to dance only to discover she had found a new passion in the healing arts. She eventually decided to leave dance and devote herself fully to the study and practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Ayla uses her background in nutrition, yoga, and meditation to round out the therapeutic process and help you gain long lasting, sustainable results as well as tools for self-care and disease prevention. Ayla is a trained birth doula and has ten years experience as a yoga instructor. She received her BA from Swarthmore College.
