Eleanor Yung L.Ac

Eleanor Yung L.Ac. practices Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, and teaches Taichi Chuan and Qigong in NYC. She has been involved in the healing arts since 1 989 when she began studying Taichi Chuan and Qigong with the late Master Ham King Koo. She received her M.S. in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2002, and has furthered her studies during the summer of 2006 in Shanghai. She practices acupuncture and sees patients at Longevity Health in the Flatiron district and at Grand Meridian in Chinatown. Eleanor Yung teaches Taichi Chuan at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Asian American Arts Centre, and at East West Yoga Center. In her healing practices, she believes in the combination of intervention and prevention. With acupuncture and herbal medicine, illnesses can be interrupted and health restored. With qigong and Taichi practices, wellness can be enhanced and illnesses kept at bay.

Prior to her healing career, Eleanor Yung was dancer/choreographer and Artistic Director of the Asian American Dance Theatre, and has served on Advisory Panels of the National Endowment for the Arts and New York State Council on the Arts, and the Creative Artists Public Service Program.

She is a contributing author of Chinese Women Diaspora, Sharon Hom, Esq., ed.  New York. 1998, Chapter 11 “Moving into Stillness”, and is a presenter at the NY APPAN International Festival & Symposium on “Meditation – Healing Dance and Music” at LaMama E.T.C. in November 2008.
